Developing Israel’s periphery communities and providing equal healthcare standards through the country are national priorities. That is why Ashdod was selected as the site for the first public hospital to be built in Israel in over 40 years.
Modern day Ashdod, founded in 1956, sits on the remains of 23 ancient cities. Ashdod’s bustling port, broad boulevards, spacious public facilities and more affordable housing have transformed this municipality into Israel’s fifth largest city.
Assuta has been providing premier quality healthcare in medical centers across Israel for over 80 years. Samson Assuta Ashdod was built with a commitment to those same high-quality standards. Samson Assuta Ashdod Public Hospital was funded by the Israeli government and Assuta Medical Centers Network. This joint effort has realized Israel’s goal of making world-class healthcare accessible to the under-served Ashdod region.
Samson Assuta Ashdod Public Hospital brings immediate healthcare to more than half a million people including veteran Israelis and new immigrants from 99 different countries with diverse cultures and backgrounds.
Proximity to the Gaza Strip and Israel’s harsh reality requires a constant maintenance of defense. The hospital is fully prepared for security crises, including terrorist attacks. Its unique bomb-shelter design ensures the hospital can continue its daily activities without interruption during times of conflict and provide care for wounded soldiers and civilians.
In order for the Samson Assuta Ashdod Public Hospital to maintain and expand its state-of-the-art care and facility over time, ongoing private contributions will be critically important.
